What age do you need to be to do the City SleepOut?

You must be aged 18yrs or older to take part in the City SleepOut challenge. Participants aged 18 years and under and not able to take part unfortunately.

Would any pre-existing health issues restrict participation?

We want everyone who participates in the SleepOut to have a safe and enjoyable experience. If you have any pre-existing health conditions with which you are concerned about sleeping outside in winter, we would recomend that you do not take part. Please seek professional advice if you are unsure.

Will alcohol be served, or can I drink alcohol at the event?

Alcohol can be purchase from the bar within the Cricket Club up until 12 midnight. Due to the dangers of consuming alcohol and being exposed to cold winter conditions overnight, there will be no alcohol served after this time.

Will hot drinks be served at the event?

Yes, we will be serving hot soup up until midnight. You will also be able to get a hot tea or coffee in the morning from 7am. There is a 24 hours garage on the Binley Road, a 5 minute walk away, if you require snacks and other drinks.

Will we be sleeping in tents?

No. The challenge will be to sleep outside in the fresh air with sleeping bags and the cardboard boxes provided. Make your own sleeping area as comfortable as possible. We have a fun event where we will award a humble prize to the winner of the ‘build the best box bed’ competition. Many people around the country have to do this every night, could you do it once?

What do I need to bring?

You need to bring your own: warm sleeping bag, winter waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, all appropriate warm clothing and a sleeping mat if you want one. None of the above will be provided.

Is there any other health and safety information I should know about?

The safety and welfare of everyone attending City SleepOut is our number one priority. City SleepOut is produced in association with Coventry & North Warwickshire Cricket Club. First Aid facilities will be with the event organisers. In the event of an emergency approach one of the Three Spires Round Table organisers, in a yellow high visibility jacket, who will assist you.

Why do I have to pay £20.00 to register?

On registration, you will be required to pay a £20.00 deposit to secure your place at City SleepOut. This deposit becomes part of your overall fundraising target and is non-refundable. For this you get a cup of soup before you sleep, a bacon or sausage batch with a cup of tea or coffee when you wake, cardboard to make you bed, a City SleepOut scarf and a warm feeling of achievement!

What happens if I don’t reach the £100.00 fundraising target?

To take part in City SleepOut you must reach the minimum fundraising target of £100.00. By registering for the event you are committing to raise the required minimum fundraising target of £100.00, if you fail to reach this target by Saturday 20th October, you will not be allocated to attend and your deposit and any monies raised will be donated directly to the City SleepOut campaign.
